What a happy working day……..

Today, I got some things that made my working day happy and beautiful!

a) I was doing commisioning with my engineer for a new machine that was delayed for months because we waited for the user’s approval.

Yippie! We can invoice the client…

b) Susan reported that Dr. JS was happy with today’s surgery. He got what he has been expecting from the system: Selective surgery.

This is our second case which he was satisfied with.

c) Andrew told me that Dr. JS was satisfied and plan to buy 2 more systems!

If you remember about my posting of an angry client

Hmmm, can’t be happier, it needs a hard work to make them come true.

Astrocytoma

Do you know what astrocytoma is?

Here’s a link for the information.

I was in Malang on Wednesday and Thursday. On Thursday, there was a male patient, still young, around 35 y.o. had that tumor. It was malignant, he’s lost his concious, based on his Glasgow Coma Scale which was very low.

After surgery he will need chemotherapy, radiation, etc, so the tumor won’t grow again. That’s the theory, in reality, after surgery was done, most patient if they feel better, they won’t come to see their doctor for checkups.

Anyway………the neurosurgeons were able to remove the tumor, inspite of limited supporting equipments they have.

For you out there:

Take care of the food you eat. Avoid junkfood and fastfood, fatty food, etc. Love your body.

Even people at young age can get tumor! Based on my three last brain tumor surgeries, patients are considered young.

Male and female patients are balance, although my neurosurgeon told me that women has bigger chance to get tumor! It’s the hormones, they said.

Brain tumor surgeries

Been in Bandung last Sunday night and went back to Jakarta last night.

Well, there was earthquake in Jakarta. Thank God, it was a mild one.

I accompanied neurosurgeons for two tumor removal surgeries.

One, on Tueday, was at RS St.B, meningioma, 12 hours of surgery! The longest time I have ever been! The tumor was hard and big, very big. I was very tired, standing, waiting, sitting, feeling hungry, in the cold O.T.

At the same time in Jakarta, Susan accompanied Dr.JS using our 3rd handpiece. He finally used it despite of confusing hospital’s arrangement.

Hmm, as long as the patient was helped and neurosurgeons were happy and they plan to purchase my machine, I can put up with it :)

Second was on Wednesday, at RSHS, glioma, in the eye. Patient’s right eye was removed. It took 5 hours of surgery.

I took a pic of the eye ball, hehehe. I will downloaded it here later.

Wish I took pictures of their MRI, so I can show you how big their tumors were.

I just felt really tired, because I skipped lunch on tuesday and had late lunch on Monday and Wednesday (at 3.30 pm). Also, I had to bring big heavy cases of the equipments.
I’m glad the neuro residents helped me carry them.

And before went home, it’s alway a must to buy cakes and breads, LOL.

Dropped by at Kartikasari and Amanda Brownies. Also, bought 1 pair of shoes and 2 pairs of high heels.

Nice Dinner at Home

Dad just came home from an invitation from our relative this afternoon. She’s having her birthday and her reunion with her schoolmates, and they had a formal meeting. My dad was invited as the speaker.

I haven’t had my dinner tonight. Bought New Zealand’s Cappuchillo this evening at Citraland Mall.
When dad got home, he talked about the meeting, etc.

Then he told me about the food he brought. As you know, that in Indonesia there’s a tradition, if someone has a party or gathering, the guess can bring home some the food.

Look what dad brought! Puyunghai, cap cay, chicken soup, fried chicken nugget and sausage, beef and vegetable in oyster sauce. Wow, to me, that’s heaven! LOL.
‘Cos I have never cooked since 2 years ago, and usually just buy a take-away, a.k.a warteg, nasi goreng, penjual makanan yang lewat depan rumah, hahaha………

I’m going to eat now. I’m drooling here…………..C ya……………..

There were cool movies on the theatre, and I missed them………. :((

I consider myself a movie freak, although sometimes I don’t watch new movies or all kinds of movies. But, I can watch VCDs/DVDs, four movies at one go during weekends, please note: the four movies are only for one day!

Nowadays, I haven’t had a chance to make a time to watch new cool movies (Note the word MAKE, that’s not normal! You have a time, 24 hours a day. But, I have to make my schedule, got it?).
I spend my weekends for internet (beside chatting, lol, also for research for my future activity), Taekwondo Club, and to visit family. No TV, no movies!

What have I missed so far?

Mission_busposter

Tom Cruise, although he’s taken. I don’t care.

Xmen3_bigreleaseposter

Cool superheroes!

Hope I can still catch these:

Family

This also to remind myself of my goal in life. What’s the point of working hard but you don’t have time to share it with your beloved ones?

=============================

I ran into a stranger as he passed by,

"Oh excuse me please" was my reply.

He said, "Please excuse me too;
I wasn’t watching for you."

We were very polite, this stranger and I.
We went on our way and we said goodbye.

But at home a different story is told,
How we treat our loved ones, young and old.

ater that day, cooking the evening m
When I turned, I nearly knocked him down.

"Move out of the way," I said with a frown.

He walked away, his little heart broken.
I didn’t realize how harshly I’d spoken.

While I lay awake in bed,
God’s still small voice came to me and said,

"While dealing with a stranger,
common courtesy you use,
but the family you love, you seem to abuse.

Go and look on the kitchen floor,
You’ll find some flowers there by the door.

Those are the flowers he brought for you.
He picked them himself: pink, yellow and blue.

He stood very quietly not to spoil the surprise,
you never saw the tears that filled his little eyes."

By this time, I felt very small,
And now my tears began to fall.

I quietly went and knelt by his bed;
"Wake up, little one, wake up," I said.

"Are these the flowers you picked for me?"
He smiled, "I found ‘em, out by the tree.

I picked ‘em because they’re pretty like you.
I knew you’d like ‘em, especially the blue."

I said, "Son, I’m very sorry for the way I acted today;
I shouldn’t have yelled at you that way."

He said, "Oh, Mom, that’s okay.
 I love you anyway."

I said, "Son, I love you too,
and I do like the flowers, especially the blue."

FAMILY

Are you aware that if we died tomorrow, the company

that we are working for could easily replace us in

a matter of days.

But the family we left behind will feel the loss

for the rest of their lives.

And come to think of it, we pour ourselves more

into work than into our own family,   an unwise investment indeed,
 don’t you think?
So what is behind the story?

Do you know what the word FAMILY means?
FAMILY = (F)ATHER (A)ND (M)OTHER (I) (L)OVE (Y)OU

Taken from b f’s blog (360 yahoo).
