Yesterday was a normal day, except I just came back from Purwokerto at midnight, and needed my sleep badly. At 5 am, my coach called me and asked me if I was at home already. He reminded me to attend Taekwondo coach seminar in KONI DKI Jakarta. Well, I wished I told him that I was still in Purwokerto so I didn’t have to attend the seminar. ‘Cos I told him a couple of days ago that I would come back to the city on saturday noon.
So, I tried to get up from my bed, prepared my breakfast, took shower. Oh, we will give belt examination at Kemang at 2-4 pm. Now, how could we get away from the seminar? We sneaked up during lunch break, lol.
It wasn’t interesting at all, cos everything was late. Found out that my coach haven’t registered us yet days before as planned. Due to additional participants, committe was lack of training materials, so we needed to wait for them to make copies.
Then the presentation was boring. The head of referree just read the material instead of giving a good presentation. The Chief of Jakarta TKD Association came late, so we got drinks and stationaries late too. By the time we completed the ceremonial, it was lunch break!

So I and my head coach rode my car to Kemang. Dropped by at Tanah Abang to have lunch, Sop Kaki Sapi (Ox leg Soup)……Yummy !!!!! I bought one take-away for my dinner later.
I know that since last week, the car machine didn’t have enough power to speed. I thought nothing serious. But today, I feel my car acted differently, especially when I was in Mampang Prapatan. Even I stepped on the gas, I didn’t get the speed I wanted, it was slow driving. Saboom Mansur slept all the way. He went to hospital again yesterday.
I smelled burnt rubber and strange noise. I slowed down, as I didn’t know the way to Kemang Club Villas. I woke him up, but he wasn’t concious. I told him to park my car on the spot and went to Kemang Villa by taxi. He said that it won’t be far, only 300 metres. I kept driving very slowly with worry.
Oh, I see the supermarket and the gate at last. Saw Pandu’s mom. I saw smoke coming from my rear tire. She screamed, telling us to get out of the car. There was flame!
I was panic, and shocked, when I saw a flame came out from my tire.
I shouted to get help. There was a supermarket near the car, I asked the security officers for fire extinguisher. They didn’t react fast. A man who sells plants, coming for me, bringing piles of water and splashed the water to the fire.
Then the guys from supermarket brought the extinguisher. I was afraid that the machine would explode. What a scene! It was an expatriate housing, they passed by with an amazed face.
Meanwhile, my coach went to the sport club because students were waiting. I closed car’s windows and went to sport club to. Show must go on!
After tested them for their belt exam, I went to see security office of the supermarket. I asked them to watch my car for the night, and I’ll get it the morning after.
So my car was moved from the street to supermarket parking area, with the help of security guards, by pushing my car forward and backward.
I was still feeling down. I have informed my father about the situation. He was on his way back to Jakarta from Bandung.
I wanted to cry ………………. Tomorrow I won’t attend the seminar. I and my dad will take care of the car first.

Back to my students’ exam. There were 5 white belts, 2 green belts, and a blue belts. All of them did the routine: stretching, running, did some kicking and punching techniques.
Their parents were watching.
Wow, my, my………….There was a good looking man in the uniform, wearing black belt. I asked my coach who he was. He’s the PE teacher at Australian International School, also the extra curriculum supervisor. He’s got his black belt in New Zealand. Anyway………….
The exam went well, but a white belt student didn’t want to do it. He was very shy.
To be honest, those students’ techniques were bad, need improvement, a lot of it! But due to the condition, I could not apply what we practise to them.
